The Great State of Texas - Part 2

Next up - Austin..

When driving to Austin, you realize just how flat Texas is.  Then bam...  the rolling hills of Austin.  It a nice town dominated by the university.   They have a few museums that are cool.  The university is nice as well.

Of course it was a bit hot that day.   They have some nice parks, shopping areas, and downtown is wonderful.  I see why its one of the 10 most popular places to move to.

I drove outside of Austin as well to a BBQ place.  It was said a must do.   When I arrived I was apprehensive.  It reminded me of an old ranch time left behind.  A stone building with corrugated steel roof.   The old pole where horses used to be tied are used to separate cars as they park.  Then there were the old picket fences.   I debated whether to eat there.. Then decided I was already there.   Well the BBQ...was good..  Glad I went.   Very deceiving...

Anyways Austin was nice.  Glad I got to see it.

The Great State of Texas

First up Dallas.  I arrived in Dallas at the end of May.  Low an behold they had an anmi conference.  People walking around in full body customs, grim reaper outfits, and off course the always present Spock ears.   However, I do not have any pictures.  Just didn't think of it really.

So downtown Dallas was a bit disappointing.  It closed by 7 pm.   Boring....   However the outskirts were OK.   They have some nice shopping centers mixed in with some nice town houses.   Hey.. I even had a chance to take in a movie.   I saw the old Dallas stadium.. no picture..

The highway system reminded me of California.  All highways interconnecting with bridges.  (multi terried bridges)

Also, from all the NFL games I assumed they had more than 2 or was it 3 glass tower buildings.  Camera can give you an illusion of something different.

So anyways.  I hope you enjoy the tiny amount of pictures.

Next Up Boston

Boston is a popular destination for me this past year.   I was there last September 2007, May 2008, and August 2008.   In addition, I am scheduled to return late September of 2008.  During the that time, I spent my time wisely.  I visited the city popular destination.   Took in a game at Fenway Park.   Had a chance to go to a playoff game in Boston Garden (Boston vs Cleveland) game 2.
There are many cool sites here.  One just need to get a Charlie Card and have a will to explore.   Unfortunately, I did not have my digital camera with me at all times.  However, will try to rectify the next trip :o).

History is abundant in Boston.  As many of my friend can tell you, I love history.   Its really a great place!

Maybe I'll go whale watching next.   However stay tuned for more Boston adventures.  :o)

Cherry Blossoms in NJ

Look at this I'm on a roll.   Two post in one night.  More like I can not sleep.  OH well might as well be productive.
Believe it or not, outside of Washington DC, Newark NJ has the biggest concentration of Cherry trees in a city area (or at least that is what they say).  So we travel into Newark to see the blossom.  It was pretty cool.
We even hung out with the old men playing botchie ball (yes I have no idea how to spell that.  But it reminds me of mobile shuffle board).   Anyways we were challenged to play.  We just smiled and politely informed them we were not in their leagues.   Which was soooo true!!

Chicago Horror

OK, So I know its been a while since I last posted.  I really should carry my MAC on trips with me.  BUT..  that would be two computers (work and personal).  That would be heavy.

So my last post was a vacation because I successfully completed a project in the cold weather city of Chicago.  Or so I thought ..  SIGH....     It turns out I got to go back because of the sites (well I'll be politically correct here) and just leave it as I got to go back.

So a couple of the guys from the company met me there.  One night we decided to take a drive to Chicago.   It was cold and rainy.  Perfect for pictures right.   HAHA.  Didn't even get out of the car.  Been in Chicago before, but that was a trip way before I started blogging.  Come to think of it.  That trip sucked as well.   LOL   I'm destined not to have a good time in Chicago I think.   Well some times were good.  Few hours here or there.   LOL    So enjoy the bad pictures of Solider Stadium, a Muesum, and the blurry city streets.

Sorry.. usually have better pictures.
